Kathakathan with the famous Marathi writer Madhuri SHANBHAG

Madhuri Shanbhag was a Professor of Physics at a leading college in Belgaum. She has 38 Marathi books in her credit (two more being in the process of publication) on different subjects including fiction, short stories, novels and biographies.

Prof. Shanbhag has also translated many English books into Marathi, the most famous being “Agni Pankh” (with 18 editions), translation of the book “Wings of Fire” written by our beloved past-President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The biography of JRD Tata “JRD Ek Chaturastra Manus” is also now in its 6th edition.

She won more than 20 awards including, two Vidnyaan Maharashtra Raajya Puraskaars, three from Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad Pune Puraskars, Best Marathi Short Story Puraskars from KATHA (Delhi), just to name few.

Besides writing, Prof. Shanbhag takes active part in social activities; she is a Secretary of Tilakwadi Female Education Society, a President of Vasant Lecture Series, Belgaum and a Vice-President of Bharati Vidyabhavan School.
